We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to join us for ‘The Decider’ – Lions Lunch with Kieran Read ONZM and Sam Warburton OBE. The lunch will be held at Cardiff’s finest, new luxury hotel The Parkgate on Friday 21st October, 2022.
The event will reunite both captains from the epic 2017 series when the British & Irish Lions came back from 1-0 down in the series, winning the second test 24-21, then onto a dramatic 15-15 draw in a thrilling final test.
Kieran Read retired from rugby after an incredible 127 test matches (52 as captain) for his beloved New Zealand. He was a two-time Rugby World Cup winner and he also become the World Rugby Player of the Year in 2013.
Sam Warburton won 74 caps for Wales, 49 as captain. He led Wales to a memorable Six Nations Grand Slam and to the semi-final of the 2012 Rugby World Cup. Fittingly, his last match was the 3rd test decider at Eden Park, Auckland.
Since his retirement at the age of 29, he has become a hugely respected pundit for both BBC and BT Sport. He is also the most successful Lions captain, being one of just two men to captain the invitational side twice and having an undefeated record of a series win and a draw against Australia and New Zealand respectively.
The afternoon will commence at 1:00pm and will include a two-course lunch, charitable raffle and auction.

We also have a limited number of Platinum tables available at £1,500+VAT. You will receive a selection of fine wine along with prime location seating for the main event.
